An October 14 arraignment is scheduled in Newton County Circuit Court for Joplin Honkies member Jared Prier on two counts of assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
Prier is accused of shooting two people, one of whom is also connected to the Joplin Honkies, according to statements made by Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland.
In his statement to the Newton County Sheriff's Department, Prier pins the shootings on another Joplin Honky...the one whose corpse he is accused of abandoning in a driveway near Diamond.
The information is spelled out in the probable cause affidavit from Newton County Detective T. Spencer:
Jennifer Miller stated to this detective that she, Thomas Webb, Jared Prier, and two other subjects (Jennifer did not want to identify) were partying at Steven Severs' house at 3689 Cherry Road the night of August 17, 2014.
Jennifer stated that she was sitting on the couch getting ready to do her nails and Thomas was sitting next to her. Jennifer stated that she heard a loud bang and looked up and observed Jared Prier pointing a gun in her and Thomas' direction.
Jennifer said that Jared nearly shot me in the head and actually nicked her right hand with a bullet causing it to bleed a lot. Jennifer stated that Thomas jumped up and ran around the table and that Jared approached him and shot Thomas twice in the stomach. Jennifer stated that she ran to the door and exited the residence and ran to the south side of the property to a trailer that Steven Severs' father, Lester Severs, resides inside.
Jennifer stated that she and Lester then walked back to the residence and Jared Prier met them in the doorway. Jennifer stated that Letser asked Jared why he began shooting inside his son's residence and that Jared advised that he did so because he believed Thomas was a "rat." Jennifer stated that Dennis "Nathan" Meyer then showed up at the residence ready to party, not knowing that the shooting had just happened.
Jennifer stated that once Dennis "Nathan" Meyer was advised of the shooting, he gave Jared a ride away from the residence. Jennifer stated that while she had been gone to get Lester to come down to the residence, Thomas had fled to the vehicle he had driven to the residence and drove over a few driveways to where Jennifer could still see the tail lights of his vehicle.
When this detective located Jared Prier and asked what had occurred, Jared states that he was not present at the Cherry Road address that evening, that he believed Dennis "Nathan" Meyer had shot Thomas Webb.
Dennis "Nathan" Meyer is deceased as of August 21, 2014 and Jared Prier is currently in custody for the abandonment of Dennis "Nathan" Meyer's corpse, therefore this detective could not interview Dennis.
A search warrant was obtained for 3689 Cherry Road and a bullet was recovered from inside the residence and swabs of blood from the front porch were obtained.
All items were placed into evidence at the Newton County Sheriff's Office. The interview with Jennifer Miller was recorded at the Joplin Police station and also placed into evidence at the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
What bs and he was suppose to be his friend
ReplyDeleteI beleave Iwas at stevens unit with him in patient earler this year...just sayn he was havn some probs but he seemed like a great guy.. Idont think he woulda done this if he woulda stayd on his meds...he just didn't seem like he would hurt or shoot anyone for no reason.. but Ionly knew him while Iwas inpatient....
ReplyDeleteMy question is? Why didn't Jennifer Miller report this when it happened? Oh I forgot she had felony charges pending out of Jasper and Newton Co....... So when she got caught, she wanted to tell??? I guess maybe to get out of her changes that were already pending, which she never had shown up at either places for court. She was on the run with warrants before this ever occurred! Isn't there some kind of law called "conspiracy" an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons, plot. In Miller's affidavit, did she tell the detectives she was previously in a relationship with Webb? Highly doubtful!!!! There is a law somewhere if the detectives would do there job, that if you know of a crime and don't say nothing about it. Your just as guilty...... Instead no one called the police, she probably wrapped up "her hand" and finished doing her nails" and carried on with her life until she got caught up!
ReplyDeleteWow....i hope and pray justice will be served to whomever shot Tommy Webb
ReplyDeleteWhy? Tommy Webb is a worthless waste of oxygen.
DeleteHe is a junkie, a thief, and just general scum of the Earth.
Tommy Webb is a thief and a meth head who probably deserved to be shot, just saying
ReplyDeleteMaybe the if you have some more intell on this story you should come in and tell someone and not blame the detectives for not doing what is asked when they are many stories and different kinds of evidence that points to the suspect like gun powder on hand.
ReplyDeleteTommy Webb is a addict so who are u ppl to judge. I cant believe ppl act surprised when Joplin is the meth capital of the world. I pray justice is served where it is due
ReplyDeleteI believe Nate's family has been through enough. Let him rest in peace and stop running his name through the mud. He was no killer.

ReplyDeleteIf ur accusation of him being an addict and a thief are correct... What makes u think he deserved to get shot? He hasn't ever caused any bodily injuries tie anyone by doing drugs or stealing.
ReplyDeleteHow could a thief or a addict deserve to get shot? Im sure that he has never shot anyone while stealing or getting high.
