Now is the perfect time to get vaccinated. Presently influenza activity rates are low and it takes about two weeks for your body to develop an immune response after vaccination. Get vaccinated now so you will be protected!
The Joplin City Health Department has seasonal flu vaccinations open to the public at a cost of $15.00. Payment is by cash, credit card, adult Medicaid or Medicare Part B. Those 65 or older should present a Medicare card (Part B) and a claim will be filed with Medicare on their behalf.
Open to the public. Flu vaccinations are for individuals 3 years of age and older. At present time a very small quantity of flu shots are available for pregnant women and children younger than 3 years of age. If you are pregnant or have children younger than 3 years of age please contact us for further information at 417-623-6122.
Influenza vaccinations will be given by appointment, as well as on a walk-in basis, Wednesday, October 15, and Monday, October 20, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and again 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The immunizations will be given in the upper level entrance (West side) of the Joplin City Health Department, 321 E. Fourth Street.
