Two injured, Seneca man charged with DWI after accident on W. 20th

Two people were injured and a Seneca man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle accident 11:30 p.m. Thursday on West 20th Street, one mile west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Saturn driven by William Z. Hopper, 37, Seneca, crossed the center line and struck a 2012 Buick Enclave driven by Debra L. Roark, 49, Columbus, Kansas.

Roark suffered minor injuries was taken by private vehicle to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Hopper suffered moderate injuries was taken by ambulance to Freeman West.

In addition to DWI, Hopper was charged with failure to drive on the right side of the roadway, no insurance, and no seat belt.
