A Joplin teen was charged with driving while intoxicated after being injured in a one-vehicle accident 8:15 p.m. Thursday on Jackson Avenue one mile south of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus driven by Mark A. Taylor, 19, Joplin, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway, ran through a fence and struck a tree.
Taylor was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
