Joplin woman escapes injury in two-vehicle crash near Springfield

A Joplin woman escaped injury following a two-vehicle crash 6 p.m. Sunday on I-44 one-half mile west of Springfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Saturn SL driven by Shelby L. Greninger, 20, Joplin, and a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by Lesa M. Chastain, 52, Arcola, were exiting I-44 at MO 266 when the Greninger vehicle rear-ended the Chastain vehicle.

Chastain was treated at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, for minor injuries. A passenger in the car, Charlton C. Chastain, 54, Arcola, also received minor injuries, but did not seek treatment at the time.
