(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)On 10-01-2020, Cpl. Scheppert observed a male that was known to have active city warrants.
When Cpl. Scheppert attempted to make contact with Joshua L. Jackson of Sarcoxie. Jackson failed to obey a lawful command and continued to ride his bicycle. Cpl. Scheppert was able to get Jackson to stop and eventually detained.
Cpl. Scheppert observed Jackson discard items before the detention.
Upon retrieving those items, 2.9 grams of a crystal-like substance commonly associated with methamphetamine, a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, and 1.4 grams of marijuana were found.
Jackson was arrested for resisting, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
Charges have been filed with the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office.
Jackson is innocent until proven otherwise by the courts.
