Newsmakers program highlights Joplin economic development

Construction is in full force on 32nd Street in Joplin for the Woodsonia project. The multi-million dollar development and other Joplin projects are the focus of the next Newsmakers Community Connections program.

Joplin City Manager Nick Edwards and Joplin Director of Planning, Development and Neighborhood Services Troy Bolander update progress of the project that will be home to a Menards Home Improvement store. 








Bolander shares details of an apartment construction project underway at the site and the need behind the development. B&B Theatres has also announced plans to locate a luxury eight screen cinema on the Woodsonia property.

Edwards and Bolander also discuss other construction projects underway in the city and look to the future as well.








The show is airing nightly at 5 and 9 p.m. the week of August 6 on KGCS-TV and will be broadcast at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12, on KOAM-TV. It is also posted on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS - Missouri Southern State University.

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21 and is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communications at Missouri Southern State University.
