(From Joplin Schools)Today we celebrated the grand opening of the new crosswalk on 20th St. near Joplin High School, just in time for Back-to-school!
JHS junior Christian Cavener was the today’s honorary ribbon cutter, having initiated the idea for the project nearly 2 years ago.
We are proud of Christian’s leadership, and thankful to the City of Joplin for partnering with us on this project to keep pedestrians safe, especially during busy traffic before and after school.
The crosswalk will soon also feature flashing beacons to help alert motorists to the crossing.
