(From the Parsons Police Department)On July 31, 2023, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Cpl. Rory Johnson conducted what some would call a “routine” traffic stop in the 100 block of North 32nd St.
The vehicle was driving erratically and committed several traffic infractions. Cpl. Johnson stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Kristen Mattox-Graham, age 30 of Parsons.
During the stop, Mattox-Graham acted in a manner that led Cpl. Johnson to believe that she may be under the influence. After Cpl. Johnson completed the field sobriety testing with Mattox-Graham, she was told she was being placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Mattox-Graham began to resist Cpl. Johnson and Sgt. Tony Adamson during the arrest and struck Cpl. Johnson in the face.
After being transported to the jail, Mattox-Graham continued to be combative with officers, kicking at Cpl. Johnson and Off. Luke Schibi. Mattox-Graham was booked into the Parsons Police Department for charges of Driving under the influence, Reckless driving, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Interference with Law Enforcement, Failure to produce liability insurance, and failure to signal.
Mattox-Graham was charged by the Labette County Attorney’s Office with two counts of Felony battery on a law enforcement officer, Interference with law enforcement, Driving under the influence, No liability insurance, Reckless driving, and Failure to give proper signal.

Mattox-Graham was transferred to the Labette County Jail after her court appearance, and she remains jailed on $25,000 cash or surety bond.
Mattox-Graham is currently on bond through the Labette County District Court from an incident on April 20, 2023, which we released information on April 21. 2023, where Mattox-Graham had fled from a traffic stop in her vehicle and led Parsons Police and Labette County Deputies on a vehicle pursuit in Parsons and in rural Labette County, after Sgt.
