(From the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office)On May 4, 2025, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a tip about possible Child Pornography being shared by a person in Cherokee County.
An investigation was immediately initiated, and information was obtained that led to a Search Warrant being issued for a residence located in rural Baxter Springs.
Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to the address and served the Search Warrant. The suspect was contacted at the residence. Willard Carver, age 24, of rural Baxter Springs was taken into custody for Internet trading in Child Pornography.
This investigation is ongoing, and charges will be submitted to the Cherokee County Attorney’s Office. The Kansas Bureau of Investigations is assisting with examination of collected evidence.
