(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)On 03/21/22, Officer Bounds checked a vehicle that had been on the side of the road for a couple hours; it appeared that no one was in the car.
She contacted a male in the backseat covered in blankets, nude, and sleeping. She requested his identification. He provided her with a Tennessee driver's license.
Officer Bounds immediately deemed the license a fake. After many questions about his identity (license said 5'9"...he was 4'10", giving different birthdates and addresses) and not being able to return on a fingerprint scanner, the male was detained.
In the pouring rain, Officer Bounds conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. 2.3 grams of a crystal-like substance (methamphetamine), three forged identifications were located, his actual identification, a broken glass pipe with residual white residue, and a cut straw with residual white residue.
Ryan Ziech, 40, from Columbus, OH, was placed under arrest for False Impersonation, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Prohibited uses of a License, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended, and No Insurance.
His charges were submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office; Ziech is currently being held in the Jasper County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash or surety bond for Forgery and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Ziech is innocent until proven otherwise by the courts.
