Openings available at Crowder pre-school

(From Crowder College)

The Crowder College Technical Education Center opened a preschool program this fall to benefit the experience of students working in the field of Early Childhood Education.

The preschool offers morning or afternoon sessions, Monday through Thursday, 8:30-11am or 12:30-3pm, for children ages 3-5. A child may attend one to four sessions per week, $8 per day upon acceptance of application.

The preschool serves as a teaching opportunity for students in the high school Early Childhood Education program offered to juniors and seniors attending one of our area sending schools (Neosho, Diamond, East Newton, McDonald County & Seneca).

“Currently, we bus students to area preschools for their observation and teaching. This program not only helps our high school students, but will also afford our Education majors the opportunity to observe a preschool setting without traveling from campus. Pairing these two programs is a win-win for everyone,” stated David Webber, CTEC Director.

Dana Cobb, Early Childhood Development Instructor, provides students the opportunity to interact on a daily basis with a variety of preschoolers. Alyssa Goddard, Early Childhood Program graduate, is also on staff as the preschool teacher.

Parents wishing to enroll a child in the program should complete the online application: http://www.crowder.edu/academics/cctec/ or contact Crowder Technical Education Center at: 417.455.5665.
