As part of the continued efforts in keeping the patrons informed, the East Newton R-VI Schools administration will provide monthly information concerning Board meetings.
A recap of the October, 2016 regular meetings is as follows:
Patriot Pride recipients were the Adren Lamphere and Penny Hayward.
Public Comments: None
The Board approved the Consent Agenda, including the previous month Board minute and monthly bills, substitute teacher list, Transportation routes, let bids for exclusive pouring and vending rights, and Board procedure JED-AP1.
Program evaluations for the month of October included Drug Free, Quest, and Building Improvement
Under reports a financial report was given for the month of September and enrollment numbers were presented. Total enrollment on the last day of September (K-12) was 1,333 students. Attendance overall for September was 95.1%.
Under Old Business, MSBA policy revisions ADF and Procedure ADF-AP1 was approved.
In respect to New Business, the Board approved an easement for the Newton Co. Public Water System #1 at the high school campus. The Board also heard the first reading of MSBA policy revision 2016A and 2016B.
The Board then went into Executive Session.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for November 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Central Office.
