Missouri Southern activities for week of October 24

 For the final week of the United Way campaign, the Southern Shuttle will be making its way around campus from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 28. 
It will be student driven, and it will allow them to tell riders about the United Way and the programs is sponsors,” says Alex Gandy, a member of Missouri Southern’s United Way committee. “They’ll learn how it impacts the area and the ways in which the community needs their help.”
The golf cart can shuttle students, faculty and staff to and from buildings or to the parking lots. Riders are free to make a donation or learn how they can text to donate.
Other activities planned on campus next week include Halloween-themed films, the opening of Southern Theater’s production of “Veronica’s Room” and a Great Britain Semester presentation.
MONDAY, OCT. 24
“Hocus Pocus”: 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre in Billingsly Student Center. The screening is free and open to the campus community.
TUESDAY, OCT. 25
Grocery Bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lions Den. Students can compete to win a bag of free groceries.
Microsoft Excel Level 2 Training: 1:30 p.m., Plaster Hall. The two-day training is $124 per person. Details: 417-625-2128.
“Annabelle”: 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre.
“The 39 Steps”: 7 p.m., Cornell Auditorium in Plaster Hall. Alfred Hitchcock’s film is presented as part of the British Film Festival.
“Veronica’s Room”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre. Presented by Southern Theater, the mystery thriller is for mature audiences only. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and non-MSSU students, and free for MSSU students, faculty and staff. For reservations, call 417-625-3190.

“Veronica’s Room”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre.
THURSDAY, OCT. 27
“The U.K.’s Rocky Relationship with the European Union”: 11 a.m., Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium. Dr. Nicholas Nicoletti, assistant professor of political science, will discuss the relationship, with a focus on how EU integration will progress as the EU moves on without the United Kingdom.
“Suicide Squad”: 2:30 and 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre.
“Veronica’s Room”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre.
FRIDAY, OCT. 28
Women’s Soccer vs. Southwest Baptist: 6 p.m., Hal Bodon Field.
