Overly helpful pedestrian arrested after handing his meth to Sarcoxie police officer

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

On 10-04-2020, Officer Rice made a stop on a pedestrian near 5th and Cross.

While speaking with the subject, the subject stated that he was under the influence of something. Officer Rice asked the subject what it was, the subject then pulled out a container that had a crystal-like substance inside, commonly associated with methamphetamine.

Kyle A. Taylor, of Sarcoxie, was then placed under arrest for the possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Once Officer Rice returned to the department, he performed a field test on the 1.9 grams crystal-like substance and it did test positive for methamphetamine.

Charges are pending with the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office.

Taylor is innocent until proven guilty by the courts.
