(From the McDonald County Sheriff's Office)The McDonald County Sheriff’s Office is releasing information regarding the recovery of a stolen vehicle located near the train tracks in the Noel area.
On November 28, 2025, the McDonald County Dispatch Center was contacted by a train conductor who reported a vehicle parked in the wooded area near the tracks. Deputies responded to the location, and a Sheriff’s Office Captain also arrived to assist in locating the vehicle.
Deputies discovered a maroon Chevrolet pickup approximately 300 yards into the woods near an open field. The truck appeared to be stuck. After accessing the vehicle, deputies ran the VIN through the McDonald County Dispatch Center and confirmed the truck had been reported stolen from outside Noel in August of 2025.
After confirming the vehicle was stolen, deputies contacted the registered owner the following day. McDonald County Detectives, patrol deputies, and the owner worked together to recover the vehicle from its remote location. Once removed from the woods, the owner took possession of the truck and drove it home.
The suspect involved in the theft is in custody and has been charged with stealing the vehicle. McDonald County Detectives were able to obtain evidence linking the suspect to the stolen truck by executing a search warrant on a cell phone. Detectives located a video saved to Snapchat showing the suspect driving the stolen vehicle, leading to the filing of charges.
