Two people suffer serious injuries in motorcycle-deer collision on 66

Two Riverton, Kansas residents were injured in a motorcycle-deer collision 8 p.m. Friday on MO 66 two miles west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a deer ran into the path of a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by a 52-year-old Riverton man. The motorcycle struck the deer and overturned.

The driver and a passenger, a 44-year-old Riverton woman, were treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
