Granby pedestrian hit by truck, taken to Freeman with serious injuries

A Granby man was injured when he was hit by a pickup 6:20 a.m. today on Miner Road, south of Old Cemetery Road in Granby.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Danijel M. Balch, 18, Stark City, ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the road and struck a pedestrian, Kelly M. Larsen, 35, Granby.

Larsen was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with serious injuries.

Lamar man injured as car goss airborne, hits stop sign

A Lamar man was injured in a one-vehicle crash 1:30 p.m. Sunday on U. S. 160, 30 feet from Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by Wilbur L. Bishop, 64, Lamar, traveled off the roadway across a private driveway, became airborne and struck a stop sign.

Bishop was treated for minor injuries at Cox Barton County Hospital, Lamar.

Lamar man crashes into tree while running from the law at 104 miles per hour, passenger seriously injured

A Lamar man was charged with felony assault and felony resisting arrest following a law enforcement pursuit that led to a crash 6:33 p.m. Sunday on NW 20th Lane, four miles north of Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by Justin C. Foster, 33, Lamar, ran off the roadway on a curve and struck a tree while Foster was fleeing from law enforcement.







A passenger, Veronica A. Chavez, 33, Lamar, was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with serious injuries.

In addition to assault and resisting arrest, Foster was charged with speeding (104 miles per hour in a 70 zone), failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while revoked and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash.

Webb City, Carl Junction residents injured in morning crash on 43

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision 6:35 a.m. today on MO 43, two miles north of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2018 Chevrolet Trax driven by Cole Spencer, 32, Webb City, failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2013 Ford F-150 driven by Amber J. Crumbo, 41, Carl Junction.








Spencer was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Crumbo was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

Four people injured in car/tractor-trailer crash on I-44 near Duenweg

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash 10:28 p.m. Saturday on I-44, three miles east of Duenweg.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Chrylster PT cruiser driven by Tiffany N. Coleman, 40, St. Louis, ran off the roadway, overcorrected, returned to the highway and was struck by a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Abdinasir H. Jama, 28, Columbus, Ohio.







Both vehicles left the roadway and struck the median cables causing the tractor-trailer to overturn.

Coleman and three passengers in her vehicle, Malcom J. Coleman, 8, and Lemar M. Galvin, 15, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Joyce R. Townsend, 43, St. Louis, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
