Final update given for 171/43 roundabout construction

Route 171/Route 43 Roundabout Construction
Update for Week of August 18, 2014
 
This is the final construction update for this project. Thank you for your patience during construction.
Work scheduled:
  • Cleaning up in areas
  • Final project inspection
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Traffic Impacts:
  • Traffic flowing in full two-lane configuration
Project Background:
  • Build two-lane roundabout at Route 171/Route 43 intersection in Airport Drive
  • Widen Route 171 to five-lanes (two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane) between Route 43 to just east of Fir Road
  • Prime Contractor: APAC, Springfield
  • Project nearing completion
  • Construction Cost: $2.6 million

    Just went though the roundabout and followed a car that changed lanes twice while coming from the west then going north and turning into Sonic. These are the idiots that will cause problems. I have been honked at because I waited for traffic to clear and not just jumped out in front of someone. Good luck with this thing!!
