The Criminal Justice Department at Missouri Southern State University has recognized Outstanding Graduates for the 2016-17 academic year.
Students named Outstanding Graduates in Criminal Justice Administration include: Benjamin Dodge, Carthage; Bethany Gardner, Neosho; and Courtney Paxton, Blue Springs.
Outstanding Graduates in the Law Enforcement Program were Sarah Scott, Carthage; and Stefani Thomas, Joplin.
Nominees were required to display a high standard of character and be well-respected by peers and faculty. They also had to provide service to the university and evidence of leadership on campus and community, take part in campus activities and maintain high grade point averages.
Students were also inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society which recognizes academic excellence.
Those inducted included Kyler Bunch, Hiwasse, Ark.; Shannon Cottner, Waynesville; Taylor Garrett, Joplin; Hailey Harper, Joplin; Christopher Kincaid, Springfield; Roderick Peterson, Rogers, Ark.; and Stormi Potts, Joplin.
The following seniors were also recognized by the department for outstanding achievement on the Criminal Justice Senior Assessment National Test:
