As part of the continued efforts in keeping the patrons informed, the East Newton R-VI Schools administration will provide monthly information concerning Board meetings.
A recap of the May, 2017 regular meetings is as follows:
Patriot Pride recipients were EN Girls Track Team and Granby United Methodist Church.
Public Comments: None
The Board approved the Consent Agenda, including the previous month's board minutes and monthly bills.
Program evaluations for the month were Transportation, Library/Media Services, Federal Programs ESL and Migrant, and A+.
Under reports, a financial report was given for the month of April and enrollment numbers were presented. Total enrollment on the last day of April (K-12) was 1,336 students. Attendance overall for March was 94.6%. Additionally, May enrollment was given for K-12 which was 1,333. May attendance was 93.6%.
Under old business, the board accepted the re-bid of water line repair project at the high school for the summer. The bid went to Golf Mechanical out of Springfield Mo for $49,000.
In respect to new business, the Board had the 1st reading of the 2017A Policies. The Board approved the request by Mr. Shaeffer for a 2018 Summer Trip to the Northwest part of the U.S. The Board approved a Memorandum Of Understanding for LAUNCH, which is an online course program offered through Springfield Public Schools. Finally the Board heard from a member of T.A.B. regarding employee health insurance.
The Board then went into executive session next (RSMo. 610.021) regarding Employees.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Central Office.
