Joplin Police Department turns spotlight on Corporal Jason Stump

This week we would like to introduce the community to Corporal Jason Stump.

Cpl. Stump started his law enforcement career in 2004 with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office and joined the Joplin Police Department in 2010. 

Since joining the Joplin Police Department, he has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, patrol corporal and currently is assigned to investigations as a property detective supervisor. Cpl. Stump holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. 

When asked what he wanted to the public to know about his job Cpl. Stump stated “I take tremendous pride in wearing the badge of the Joplin Police Department. I’m grateful to do the job I love in a community that supports law enforcement."
