Two children drown in private pond in Franklin County

An eight-year-old boy and a seven-year-old boy drowned in a private pond at 424 Walls Ford Road in Franklin County around noon Sunday.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the two boys rode their bikes on private property and when they did not return to their residence when expected, a family member searching for them found the eight-year-old floating in the pond.







A diver with the St. Clair Fire Department found the seven-year-old.

The eight-year-old was pronounced dead at 5:22 p.m. with the seven-year-old pronounced dead at 5:17 p.m.
