Construction along South Connecticut and East 44th may create delays

(From the City of Joplin)

Asphalt work will be taking place along South Connecticut Avenue and East 44th Street on Monday, December 23 and Thursday, December 26.

Drivers in this area should be prepared for temporary delays as crews work on this project during this time.

Workers will be laying asphalt on the newly constructed roadway south of the I-44 overpass on Connecticut to 44th Street, and continuing east on 44th Street until Richard Joseph Boulevard. There will be flagmen to alert drivers to stops and delays during this process.

Businesses in these areas will remain open and accessible during normal operation hours during these projects. Drivers may want to choose alternative routes due to possible delays. If in the area, please use caution and watch for flagging operations indicating temporary lane or road closures.

For questions, please contact Public Works at 417-624-0820, ext. 530.
