The autopsy has concluded and at this time there are no signs of foul play. The individual located has been identified as Jackson Elwise, 29, of Joplin, MO.

An autopsy has been scheduled in reference to this case for 12 P.M. today (12/27/19) at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.
The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin notifications have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.

On December 26th, 2019 at approximately 1:15 P.M. Joplin Police responded to the area of 8th and St. Louis in reference to an unresponsive person being located.
Upon arrival it was determined the individual was deceased. Joplin Police detectives are currently on scene working the investigation.
