On 04-27-2020, a Sarcoxie officer initiated an investigative stop on a red Chevy van who had a known person who had a parole violation warrant inside.
The officer made contact with the driver Adam Morris of Reeds, MO, passengers Dakota Dallas of La Russell, MO, and Andrea Hobbs of Carthage, MO. Dallas was asked to step out of the vehicle, he was detained and placed in the patrol vehicle.
The officer made contact with Morris and asked if there was anything in the vehicle that he needed to be aware of, Morris stated some marijuana.
Upon search of his person, the officer found a loaded firearm magazine with live ammunition.
Once a Jasper County Deputy was on the scene, Morris was detained and placed in the deputy's patrol vehicle. Hobbs was then asked to step out of the vehicle so that a probable cause search could be conducted.
Underneath Hobbs's seat was a .380 caliber unloaded handgun that came back stolen out of Alabama. A .22 caliber, loaded, ready to fire rifle was found in the floorboard of the vehicle, and .9 grams of a crystal-like substance commonly known as methamphetamine was found on the floorboard where Dallas was sitting.
The vehicle was released to Hobbs's aunt and Hobbs was released at the scene. Morris and Dallas were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Due to both Dallas and Morris having prior felonies state charges were sent.
Dallas is being held on a no bond for his parole violation. $10,000 cash-only bond for unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
Morris is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond for unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts.
Both Dallas and Morris are innocent until proven guilty by the courts.
