Fellowship Baptist Church of Neosho to hold Neosho Night at 66 Drive-In

Fellowship Baptist Church of Neosho will host "Neosho Night" at the 66 Drive-In theatre on August 13. Wonder Park and The Biggest Story will be presented as a free family movie night at the Carthage theatre.

"We want to provide a safe alternative for kids and their families since we can't have Vacation Bible School this year," said Diana Brockman, VBS director at Fellowship Baptist Church. "Families get a night of free fun, and we get to share some good news with our community during this stressful time."

Wonder Park (2019) is a computer-animated adventure film about an amusement park and has a run time of one hour and 16 minutes. The Biggest Story, also an animated film, is a 26-minute, kid-friendly depiction of Bible stories.

"The Biggest Story is not just another story," Brockman said. "It presents an overview of the Bible in a way both kids and their families can understand and enjoy watching."

The 66 Drive-In, located at 17231 Old 66 Blvd, Carthage, can hold up to 425 cars and 2000 people. Gates open at 7:30, and people are encouraged to arrive early to ensure admittance to this free event. Kid-friendly music, freebies, and a prayer tent are also being planned for the evening.

Social distancing will be maintained in accordance to guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for the health and well being of all participants. Lawn chairs or blankets are welcome, but guests must sit inside their allocated parking space. No outside concessions or coolers are allowed. No recreational activities such as Frisbee are allowed. The playground is closed. There is no parking available for over-sized vehicles. The event will be held rain or shine.

Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 2201 S. High Street in Neosho, provides worship services on Sunday at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. as well as Sunday school classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Kids and youth meet on Wednesday evenings; small-group adult Bible studies are also available. 

"Our mission at Fellowship Baptist is 'Fellowshipping with a great commission so people may know, grow, go in the name of Jesus'," said Buddy Funk, senior pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church. "This event allows us to fellowship with our community to fulfill our mission. My prayer has been that the evening will be refreshing to those who attend, and a way to honor the Lord and make Him known in the process."
