A Nevada man was killed in a two-vehicle collision 10 p.m. Wednesday on U. S. 54, two miles west of Nevada.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by Rick D. Clayton, 64, Nevada, was in the wrong lane and was struck head on by a 1998 Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by Andrew R. Fox, 58, Olathe, Kan.
Vernon County Coroner David Ferry pronounced Clayton dead at the scene by 10:11 p.m.
The fatality was the 73rd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
