Exeter man killed, Stella man injured in collision on 76

An Exeter man was killed and a Stella man injured in a two-vehicle accident 6:40 p.m. Monday on MO 76, one mile west of Exeter.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Mini Cooper driven by James D. Johnson, 37, Exeter, slid on the wet roadway and struck a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Johnathan A. Lewis, 35, Stella.

Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen pronounced Johnson dead at the scene at 6:51 p.m.








Lewis was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.

The fatality was the 32nd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
