Neosho man drowns in Elk River

A Neosho man drowned in Elk River, a half mile south of Ginger Blue Sunday evening.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Matthew D. Frazier, 40, Neosho, entered the river to retrieve a boat paddle and was swept downstream, was overcome with exhaustion and drowned.








He was pronounced dead at 10:05 a.m. today by McDonald County Assistant Coroner Jonathan Fletcher.

The drowning was the fourth this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
