(From the City of Lamar)The City of Lamar is excited to announce the addition of two new taxis to support the community.
The new taxis, ran as Truman Area Transportation Service were supplied by funding through the Missouri Department of Transportation, the City of Lamar, and the SB40 Grant Committee.
Both taxis are 2023 Chrysler Voyager minivans that have been retro fitted by Braun to provide a lower floor deck and wheelchair ramps to assist those riders requiring specialized services. Each van costs roughly $86,000 dollars and are replacing two existing units.
In 2023 T.A.T.S. provided 9,409 rides and traveled 24,319 miles.
The City of Lamar and staff at T.A.T.S. would like to thank the businesses and individuals in the community for their continued support of this vital service.
