(From the McDonald County Sheriff's Office)Tuesday, 2-13-2024, McDonald County Deputies responded to a disturbance call located on Pleasant Grove Road, west of Anderson. Initial reports to 911 indicated that there were two people in a residence and one was holding the other at gunpoint.
Deputies secured the perimeter and attempted to make contact with people inside the home. After attempts to communicate with the residents were unsuccessful, MCSO Special Response Team made entry into the home and two people were found deceased.
McDonald County Detectives and Deputies then conducted a thorough investigation of the scene and were able to determine that both parties had died of a single gunshot wound. Autopsies are pending and further investigation is being conducted by detectives.
There is no danger to the community and nobody is being sought in connection to this investigation.
Names are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
