Jasper girl injured in crash after avoiding animal

 A Jasper teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident 8:55 p.m. Sunday on County Lane 110 five miles north of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old Jasper girl tried to avoid an animal in the roadway, traveled off the road and struck a fence and a tree.

The girl was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Joplin.
