(From Crowder College)Crowder College Theatre department will present The Diviners, written by Jim Leonard, Jr., directed by Annie Smith, March 7-9, 7pm nightly in the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Crowder College campus in Neosho.
This is the first major production since the technology updates to stage lighting and equipment have been completed. “We are thrilled to show the community the new improvements in the theatre with this production of The Diviners, a story that is equally heartwarming and heartbreaking,” state Annie Smith, Theatre Director.

Production synopsis: A teen girl afraid of water and a disenchanted preacher strike up a friendship in 1930s southern Indiana. When the girl was young, she nearly drowned leaving her with aching trauma and a longing for her lost mother. The preacher, set on breaking away from a long line of Kentucky family preachers, is determined not to do what he does best.
A wayward preacher. A girl living in fear. A town where everyone is searching for something more. This heartwarming story isn’t to be missed.
