Teen cited for felony DWI after Asbury woman dies in collision


A Topeka, Kansas man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated- death of another after a 36-year-old Asbury woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision 11:44 a.m. Saturday on Route H three miles northeast of Asbury.

According to Highway Patrol reports, Malachi A. Doyle, 19, was allegedly under the influence of drugs when he pulled the 2017 Honda CRV he was driving into the path of a 2016 Toyota Camry, driven by the Asbury woman. (The Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of people who are involved in accidents but does post names on its arrest reports.)







Dr. Veer at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, pronounced the woman dead at 1:23 p.m.

Doyle was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Carthage.

The fatality was the 106th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
