Weight Restriction Placed on McDonald Co. Route H Bridge Near Noel
Signs indicating a weight limit of 25 tons for single unit vehicles will be installed for a bridge on McDonald County Route H (Paradise Drive) near Noel, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The new load posting, which does not affect tractor trailers, came about during the department’s regular bridge inspection process to analyze load limitations, which have been updated per Federal Highway Administration guidance.
The single-lane bridge is rated as poor and was built in 1963. The new weight limit will be in place until the bridge is replaced, which is several years in the future.
Currently, there is no weight restriction in place for this bridge. The legal maximum weight limit for vehicles in Missouri is 45 tons.
Approximately 2,400 vehicles travel across the structure each day.
