According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Ford Escape driven by a 20-year-old Kirbyville woman failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a 2019 Ford Edge driven by an 82-year-old Golden City woman.
Dr. Jaron Nelson pronounced the Golden City woman dead at the scene.
The Kirbyville woman and a passenger in her vehicle, a 21-year-old Lockwood man, were treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.
The fatality was the 121st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
