Shell Knob man killed in crash, Eagle Rock man flown to Mercy Springfield

A Shell Knob man was killed and an Eagle Rock man injured in a one-vehicle accident 12:57 p.m. Saturday on MO 86 in Golden.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 45-year-old Eagle Rock man crossed over the center line, overcorrected and then went off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen pronounced the passenger, a 74-year-old Shell Knob man, dead at the scene.







The driver was airlifted to Mercy Springfield to be treated for serious injuries.

The fatality was the 127th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
