(From the Pittsburg Police Department)On early Wednesday morning, April 22, 2026, at approximately 3:45 AM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department, along with first responders from the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS were dispatched to an area south of Jefferson Street and east of Stilwell Street, in Pittsburg, in reference to a report of a train versus pedestrian accident. Units from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
The pedestrian is identified as 33-year-old Dorian K. Rossback, of Pittsburg. Mr. Rossback received severe injuries during the accident, and he was transported to the emergency department at Freeman Heath Systems in Joplin for treatment.
Mr. Rossback is currently listed in stable condition and is expected to recover. There were no other injuries reported.
The train involved with the accident was from the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railroad line.
This accident is still under investigation.
