Police investigate strong-arm robbery at Zora and St. Louis area

On September 8, 2014 at approximately 4:50 p.m. Officers with the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to the area of Zora and St. Louis for a Strong Armed Robbery that had just occurred to the west on the Frisco Trail.

The victim stated that he was resting on a side trail of the main trail whenever he was approached  by two males that had come out of the woods. He stated that the males grabbed a backpack that he was carrying and in doing so knocked him to the ground. The victim stated that one of the males then hit him in the head and then kicked him. The suspects took cash and two bottles of prescription medication from the victim. They then left the area on foot. No weapons were displayed during the robbery.

The victim described the first male as tall white male wearing a white under-shirt and light blue basketball type shorts. He also described him as having a thin mustache. The victim described the second male as short and heavy set white male wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts.
