The Crowder College Technical Education Center is opening a preschool program on campus to benefit the experience of students working in the field of Early Childhood Education.
The preschool will start September 6, with a morning or afternoon session, Monday through Thursday, 8:30-11am or 12:30-3pm, for children ages 3-5. A child may attend one or 4 sessions per week, $8 per day upon acceptance of application.
The preschool will serve as a teaching opportunity for students in the high school Early Childhood Education program that is offered to juniors and seniors attending one of our area sending schools (Neosho, Diamond, East Newton, McDonald County & Seneca).
“Currently, we bus students to area preschools for their observation and teaching. This program will not only help our high school students, but will also afford our Education majors the opportunity to observe a preschool setting. Pairing these two programs is a win-win for everyone,” stated David Webber, CTEC Director.
Dana Cobb, Early Childhood Development Instructor, will provide students the opportunity to interact on a daily basis with a variety of students. There will also be a preschool teacher on staff working with the children.
Parents wishing to enroll a child in the program should complete the online application: http://www.crowder.edu/academics/cctec/ or contact Crowder Technical Education Center at: 417.455.5596.
