(From the Joplin Police Department)
August 30, 2016 at 7:14 AM, Joplin Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in
the area of 7th and Moffet Ave.
At this time, it appears that the victim was in a vehicle, accompanied by two newly met
acquaintances.
One of the subjects displayed a firearm and robbed the victim of
$500.00 cash.
The victim was released unharmed from the vehicle in the area of 7th St.
and Moffet Ave.
Officers located the two suspect a few blocks away. Both suspects have been detained.
Officers located methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in the suspect’s vehicle. No
firearm was recovered at this time.
The investigation continues.
