The Joplin Fire Department responded on 25 August 25, 2016 to a structure fire at 3110 E 10th.
The initial call came in at 3:37 AM and the first fire crews arrived on scene at 3:44 AM, and found a single story residential structure with smoke coming from the eaves and attic area.
Crews entered the structure and they were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confine it to the attic area. There were two occupants in the building and both were able to evacuate safely. The fire was brought under control at 4:15.
There were no injuries to firefighting crews or civilians.
The fire department responded with 6 apparatus and 17 personnel. Duenweg Fire Department responded as automatic aid with 1 apparatus and 2 additional personnel and METS responded with an ambulance.
After an investigation by Joplin Fire Department personnel the cause was determined to be electrical and caused approximately $15,000 to the residence.
