Police search for suspect in shooting incident at Dollar General

August 17 at 6:32PM, Joplin Police responded to 1221 E. 32nd St.(Dollar General) in reference to a disturbance with shots fired.

Police located two victims that had encountered a subject known to them at that location. A disturbance ensued and the two victims (one female victim and one male victim) fled in their vehicle.

The male suspect fired six rounds at them striking their car five times. No persons were injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6", 160 lbs., brown hair, blue eyes. He was last seen driving a gray Dodge Durango with a Missouri license plate: 1DT105. If anyone has any information regarding this suspect or if you observe this vehicle please call the Joplin Police Department at 417-623-3131. Please consider any person in or around this vehicle as armed and dangerous. Do not approach this vehicle.

NEWS RELEASE – UPDATE # 1: Joplin Police have recovered the suspect's Dodge Durango near 34th St. and Texas Ave. We are still looking for the suspect.
