Carthage woman treated for serious injuries following accident on 171

A Carthage woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident 5:30 a.m. today on Highway 171 one mile west of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Shasta A. Hatton, 37, Carthage, went off the roadway and overturned. Hatton was ejected from the vehicle.

Hatton was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
