MSSU activities for week of January 23

The opening of a collaborative art exhibit, an acclaimed play directed by a Missouri Southern graduate and screenings of the Disney hit “Moana” are among the activities scheduled next week at Missouri Southern State University.
Monday, Jan. 23
“Everything is Sacred, Nothing is Sacred and Other Modern Allegories”: Exhibit opens at 9 a.m. in Spiva Art Gallery and runs through Feb. 15. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tuesday, Jan. 24
Spirit Bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lion’s Den. Students can play to win MOSO-themed prizes, courtesy of the Campus Activities Board.
Wednesday, Jan. 25
Women’s Basketball vs. Northeastern State: 5:30 p.m., Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Men’s Basketball vs. Northeastern State: 7:30 p.m., Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
“Women of Ciudad Juárez”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre. The play offers a voice to the countless women who have been murdered in Juárez, Mexico. Recommended for mature audiences. Admission is $5 for the public, $3 for senior citizens and free for MSSU faculty, staff and students.
Thursday, Jan. 26
Understanding Financial Statements: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Plaster Hall. The Small Business & Technology Development Center program will offer training for business owners and managers. Cost is $49 per person. Details: 417-625-3128.
“Moana”: 2:30 and 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre in Billingsly Student Center. The Disney animated film will be screened by the Campus Activities Board. Free and open to the campus community.
“Women of Ciudad Juárez”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre.
Friday, Jan. 27
“Moana”: 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre.
“Women of Ciudad Juárez”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Theatre.
Saturday, Jan. 28
Women’s Basketball vs. Central Oklahoma: 1 p.m., Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Men’s Basketball vs. Central Oklahoma: 3 p.m., Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
