Joplin man charged with DWI following accident on 43

A Joplin man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 4:45 p.m. Thursday on Highway 43 at Foliage Road.

According to the Highway Patrol report, as Mark Reeder, 56, Joplin, driving a 2004 Dodge Ram, lost control of the vehicle, drove off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.

Reeder and a passenger, Dewanna M. Roden, 52, Joplin, were treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

In addition to DWI, Reeder was charged with failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and for not having insurance.
