The Lamar Police Department has been busy in the last couple of weeks with several burglaries in Lamar. The most recent was over the weekend at a local business. The officers are working on following leads that we hope will take us to the parties responsible so they may be charged with their crimes.
The main purpose of this post is to first tell you, the public, that there are people in our city who have no conscience about stealing from anyone and will do so if the chance is made possible. The secondary purpose is to ask you, the citizens, of Lamar, for your assistance in apprehending those who have no regard for others property. If you see someone who appears to be suspicious, in your opinion no matter what time of day, please call the police department and ask an officer to respond and check the person(s).
The officers that patrol the streets are not able to be everywhere and see everything; this is where you as a citizen can assist us and help keep the crime in Lamar down. We have a wonderful community here in Lamar and, with the help of that community, we can keep it that way. If you should have any knowledge of the recent burglaries please call the police department and speak with an officer. Please call 417-682-3546 24 hours a day to report all suspicious activity.
