An Anderson teen was killed and four other teens injured in a one-vehicle accident 12:14 a.m. today on Patterson Creek Road, two miles east of Tiff City.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Austin J. Owens, 18, Anderson, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
A passenger, Lillian D. Wanders, 16, Anderson, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:10 a.m. by McDonald County Coroner Tracy Dowd.
Owens and two passengers, Allison Duckett, 16, Anderson, and Trenton J. Lovatt, 15, Goodman, were treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
Another passenger, Maya I. Dally, 15, was treated for minor injuries at Freeman.
The fatality was the 11th for Highway Patrol Troop D in 2017.
