We recently had some calls of concern about a phone scam that is going around. Publishers Clearing House is a legitimate organization that is being taken advantage of by phone scammers. If you know someone that may be susceptible to falling for the scam, please inform them of this information.
If you receive a call from PCH informing you have won a big prize and they need you to send them money in order for you to claim that prize, it is absolutely a scam.
From the Publishers Clearing House website:
"If someone contacts you claiming to be from PCH, and tells you that you’ve won a prize– then asks you to send a payment or money card in order to claim the prize – STOP! You have not heard from the real PCH."
